The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a Project Officer, Recovery Outcomes Coordination to provide a critical role within State Recovery Coordination and Operations.

About the Business Unit

Department of Justice and Community Safety (DJCS) Emergency Management includes the department's emergency management accountabilities delivered through Emergency Management Victoria, Emergency Recovery Victoria, Sector Performance and Reform and emergency management statutory entities and offices. DJCS Emergency Management supports the emergency management sector to work together and to strengthen the capacity of individuals, communities, government, agencies and business to achieve our shared vision of safer and more resilient communities and to rebuild and recover after an emergency.

Emergency Recovery Victoria (ERV) is responsible for state and regional coordination for all emergencies to help communities build back better and emerge stronger. ERV is a business unit within the Department of Justice and Community Safety. Working directly with impacted communities, all levels of government, agencies and industry, ERV coordinates real, effective and timely support that communities need to recover after a major emergency. As well as providing strategic leadership on whole-of-government recovery activities and delivering state recovery outcomes, ERV supports locally led recovery efforts to support councils and ensure that community is at the centre of recovery.

About the Role

The role coordinates across the whole Recovery Outcomes branch to deliver high quality and timely reporting, support across all lines of recovery, and provide secretariat support for key recovery committees. It requires outstanding collaboration and organisation skills and the ability to build relationships and work effectively with all levels.

Some of your duties will include:

* Provide high quality project support in a way that is consistent with organisational policies, demonstrating a commitment to working collaboratively as part of a team and having a proven ability to build strong working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
* Establish and maintain project controls, keeping relevant senior staff aware of the project status, including reporting, administrative and secretariat support to governance arrangements to support moving critical workflow through relevant ERV portfolios.
* Provide communication support to the branch to manage internal communication channels and deliver engaging, strategically aligned content for internal audiences, that might include presentations, stories, newsletters, forums and events.
* Provide support in the scheduling of project and team meetings with the preparation of presentations and agendas, acting as minute secretary and facilitating follow-up action.
* Manage project and team documentation, records and filing of electronic and hardcopy material consistent with organisational policies and procedures

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

* Minimum 2 years' experience providing project support for government
* Well developed, office-based computer literacy - i.e. Office 365 elements, including SharePoint
