This is a
full-time, 4-month parental backfill position
(76 hours per fortnight) at the Alfred Department of Respiratory Medicine, located at the Alfred.
The Department
The Alfred Department of Respiratory Medicine delivers clinical care for a wide range of respiratory conditions in inpatient, specialty clinic and community settings. Services include acute inpatient wards, sleep studies, cystic fibrosis care, allergy and asthma clinics, and advanced lung disease management.
The Role
We are looking for a flexible and adaptable Administration Officer/PA to support the Respiratory Specialist Clinics and the Head of Allergy, Asthma and Clinical Immunology Service. The role supports daily clinic operations, client interaction, and administrative tasks, ensuring high-quality service and compliance with reporting standards.
Provide primary reception and patient/enquiry support
Prepare clinics, schedule electronic appointments and manage referrals
Operate telephone support and data entry duties
Offer diary management and correspondence support for the AACI Head of Service
Maintain confidentiality, privacy legislation compliance and medical terminology knowledge
Plan workflow, prioritise tasks and delegate to meet deadlines
Skills and Experience
Desirable
Sound administrative experience – hospital environment preferred
Personal assistant experience valued but not required
Personable, customer-focused approach with commitment to high quality service
Computer proficiency (MS Word, MS Outlook)
Understanding of confidentiality and privacy legislation
Understanding of medical terminology
Strong planning, prioritising and delegation skills
