Selection Criteria
* SC 1 - Demonstrate high level expertise in financial administration and accounts payable & receivable, including invoice processing, purchase orders, reconciliations, family finance and supplier management within financial management systems such as Ceas 21, Compass and AIMS.
* SC 2 - Ability to apply specialist knowledge to ensure compliance with DET financial policies, procedures and audit requirements.
* SC 3 - Demonstrated ability to work independently, apply sound judgement and contribute to effective financial operations.
* SC 4 - Highly developed organisational, communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to support colleagues, leadership and the school community.
* SC 5 - Proven ability to uphold confidentiality, accuracy and integrity in managing sensitive financial information and records.
Role
Minimal attendance will most likely be required the week prior to the school year commencing each year. The role is at Range 3, involving management responsibility and accountability for delivery of professional support services. The position requires cooperation of other staff members and school community to achieve specific objectives in school administration, operations or educational programs. Direction on targets and goals is provided but the position has latitude in determining how they are achieved. Latitude is generally limited by standard procedures and school policy.
Responsibilities
* Manage and direct the preparation of annual budgets and regular financial statements and contribute to the financial decision-making of the school under the guidance of the Business Manager.
* Prepare funding submissions for the leadership team and school council under the guidance of the Business Manager.
* Direct the accounting processes of the school and ensure that all funds, including school investments, are effectively accounted for according to Treasury regulations.
* Provide advice to staff on spending against budget in respect to faculties, programs and other school projects.
* Administer government grants and other school income.
* Manage fundraising activities.
