We are currently recruiting for a Document Controller to be based in Melbourne in a permanent role for our client who operate in the Power Transmission & Distribution industry.
This is a key role within large, complex power transmission projects, working closely with project teams, contractors, and clients to ensure information is controlled, compliant, and flowing efficiently across the business.
Responsibilities:
* Develop, implement, and maintain document control systems and procedures.
* Manage and control the distribution, filing, and retrieval of project documents.
* Ensure all documents are up-to-date, accurate, and comply with company standards and regulatory requirements.
* Liaise with project teams, contractors, and clients to ensure smooth document flow.
* Coordinate with various departments to ensure document control procedures are adhered to.
* Act as the main point of contact for document control issues and provide guidance and support to staff.
* Conduct regular audits and reviews of document management practices.
* Implement corrective actions to address any discrepancies or non-compliance issues.
* Ensure proper version control of documents and maintain document history.
* Prepare and present regular reports on document control activities and status.
* Monitor and report on the progress of document control activities to senior management.
Required Experience:
* Proven experience as a Document Controller, preferably within the engineering or construction sectors.
* Previous experience working on major power utility projects is highly regarded.
* Proficiency in using document management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Experience with Objective would be preferred but not essential.
* Experience with document management software and systems.
* Strong understanding of document control standards and regulatory requirements.Experience in conducting document audits and implementing corrective actions.
* Excellent coordination and communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with various stakeholders.
Qualifications:
* A relevant tertiary qualification in Business Administration, Information Management, or a related field – preferred but not essential
