A leading national construction business is seeking an experienced
Document Controller
to support project teams across major government, education and commercial programs. This role is critical in ensuring all project documentation is accurate, compliant, and distributed efficiently across internal stakeholders, consultants and subcontractors.
This will be on a 3-/-6 month contract based in the Western Suburbs of Melbourne.
Key Responsibilities
Manage all project documentation across the full lifecycle using Aconex (essential).
Set up and maintain project folders, workflows and transmittal registers.
Issue, receive and process all drawings, RFIs, specifications, ITPs and technical documentation.
Prepare and send transmittals, ensuring all parties receive the correct, up-to-date information.
Maintain version control, revision tracking and quality checks on all documents.
Support Project Managers, Engineers and Design teams with submission deadlines.
Coordinate document flow between manufacturing, site teams and external stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with project document control standards and audit requirements.
Provide user support and basic training for project teams on Aconex processes.
Generate weekly document status reports and dashboards for leadership.
Essential Requirements
Proven experience as a Document Controller in construction or engineering.
Strong proficiency in Aconex, including workflows, mailboxes, transmittals and superseded document management.
Demonstrated experience transmitting data and controlling large volumes of documentation on multi-stakeholder projects.
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
Ability to work across multiple concurrent projects.
Strong communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
Desirable
Experience in modular, offsite or manufacturing environments.
Familiarity with ISO standards, quality systems or major government project requirements.
Intermediate skills in Excel and reporting tools.
