Job Summary: The Switchboard Operator/Receptionist plays a vital frontline role in creating a welcoming and efficient first point of contact for patients, visitors, and staff across the Western Health network. This position is responsible for managing a high-volume telephone switchboard, directing enquiries accurately, and delivering professional reception services, while also supporting essential administrative and clerical tasks.

Key responsibilities
* Manage a high-volume telephone switchboard, responding to calls and enquiries promptly, accurately, and professionally.
* Provide clear, helpful assistance to patients, carers, visitors, and staff to ensure a positive service experience.
* Maintain strict confidentiality and privacy of all patient and organisational information.
* Develop and maintain up-to-date knowledge of hospital departments and services to ensure accurate call direction and information sharing.
* Meet service standards and KPIs while supporting reception duties, including flexibility to work on a rotational roster (including Christmas Day).
