Procal is an independent dairy manufacturing and distribution company owned by the Thyssen family, who, after selling the market leading juice manufacturing business The Original Juice Co to Golden Circle in 2002, turned their talents to the dairy industry in 2003. My client Working in close collaboration with the Production Manager and Production Co-Ordinator, to Support the team with the following.
Preparing Communication on behalf of a manger.
Answering phone calls.
Organising and planning meetings.
Taking notes and writing minutes during meetings.
Conducting or preparing any research that the reporting manager may require.
Administrative Assistant may be required to fill in for The Production Coordinator in their absence.
The Production Coordinator role is multi-faceted in that it covers numerous areas of responsibilities. The position liaises with personnel in Purchasing, Operations, Production, QA, and Dispatch. As the position supports other key areas, the ability to have a working knowledge in these areas is required.
Daily Management of Production Planning Requirements including
- Consolidating orders from multiple sources
- Converting orders into daily and weekly production plan
- Make amendments to production plan as require
- Production figures entry into SAP system
Prepare & issue milk and cream forecast to supplier with delivery schedule.
Work with the Sales Team to get a working knowledge of customers both local and export, and their requirements regarding quantity, MLOR, DIFOT and any specific requirement.
Prepare and issue weekly schedule for production planning including maintenance requirements for allocated downtime to complete PM activities on the production lines.

Role Responsibilities
Teamwork:
- Work within an open and respectful team environment where each member is accountable to each other and to the other shifts and the overall department.
- Constructively deal with performance issues on the line within the wider team across all shifts, also in conjunction with the Production Manager as required
- Undertake monthly team performance meetings, providing a monthly report to the production manager on KPI's and Continuous Improvement opportunities
- Communicate regularly and lead the team through Toolbox talks.
- Provide data and information on team/shift performance to other teams and support departments to ensure the focus is on the plant's performance.
- Understand department policies/procedures that relate to team and ensure they are applied correctly.
Quality:
- Identify adverse trends and investigate reasons, ensuring that corrective actions are in place and monitored to ensure product integrity. Contain any defect products ensuring that the defect is understood and report on corrective actions implemented to minimize the issue occurring again.
- First escalation point for issues and engage other resources as required, work to solve quality issues to root cause and report through to the wider Operations Team.
- Support the outcomes in quality for the team, ensuring all QA checks are completed as required and any deviations are understood corrected as required.
- Actively develop, improve current Standard Operating Procedures to ensure they are relevant and are being followed by all of the team members.
- Ensure you follow current Business policies; you are responsible for ensuring you are kept up to date.
- Ensure all inline quality tests are conducted as required.
- Do not continue to manufacture product once it is known to be defective.
Safety
- Identify risks, unsafe work practices or safety issues, ensure that corrective actions are in place and monitored to ensure safety for everyone within the business. Contain any safety issue ensuring the safety issue is understood and report on corrective and preventative actions.
- First escalation point for issues and engage other resources as required, work to solve safety issues to root cause and report through to the wider Operations Team.
- Support the operations team with WHS, ensuring all events are captured within the system.
- Support the outcomes in safety for the team, ensuring all Safety and start-up checks are completed as required and any deviations are understood corrected as required.
- Actively develop, improve current Standard Operating Procedures to ensure they are relevant and are being followed by all of the team members.
- Ensure you follow current Business policies; you are responsible for ensuring you are kept up to date.
- Do not undertake any unsafe tasks/processes once it is known to be unsafe.
Delivery:
- Ensure team's conformance to manufacturing performance requirements and take corrective action when off track.
- Responsibility for line/area reporting.
