We need an enthusiastic legal secretary to join our friendly Melbourne office on a full-time, permanent basis, located in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.
Role
This role delivers comprehensive, proactive legal secretarial support to a Partner and a team of experienced fee earners.
It includes managing litigation-related administrative tasks, preparing documentation and claims, liaising with clients, courts and regulatory bodies, and overseeing client billing and business development activities.
Salary range: A$90,****** – A$105,******.
Key Responsibilities
Producing a variety of draft correspondence and basic court documents for the Financial and Professional Lines team
Assisting in handling litigation, including completing pro-forma documentation and any other associated documentation in relation to the preparation of claims and litigation as directed by the lawyers
Performing conflict checks and setting up new files accurately and speedily on instruction
Attending to filing of documents in courts and tribunals and preparing documentation for service
Email and diary management, including electronic filing of emails in a timely manner
Assisting with the preparation of briefs to counsel and experts (including collating documents and preparing indexes)
Booking international and interstate travel and accommodation for fee earners on a regular basis
Assisting with the organisation of business development and marketing events for your team
Collaborating with local marketing and reception teams
Attending to clients both on the telephone and in person in a professional manner
Required Experience
Extensive experience in a similar Legal Secretary or Assistant role
Experience with litigation and case and file management
Experience using Elite 3E and iManage (or similar) is essential
Strong attention to detail and a well-organised approach to work
Advanced Word skills with strong formatting abilities
