John Fawkner Private Hospital is seeking an Administration Officer to join our Emergency team on a casual basis. You will play a key role in a supportive team to ensure our patients have a positive experience during their care.

Example of shift times range from 7am–3pm, 3pm–11pm, 11pm–7am.

John Fawkner Private Hospital is a fully accredited 186-bed acute care facility providing a comprehensive range of surgical, medical, cancer and critical care services. The hospital focuses on meeting the growing healthcare needs of patients in our local community and surrounding regions, with specialisations including Cardiology, Orthopaedics, General Surgery and Cancer.
The hospital has a long-standing tradition of providing quality healthcare to the local community, including the veteran community and patients travelling from regional northwest Victoria.
Key Responsibilities
* Greet all customers
* Handle enquiries in a friendly and professional manner
* Manage a busy Emergency Department reception desk
* Answer and redirect calls
* Prepare admission paperwork
* Perform Health Fund Checks as required
* Work in a fast-paced environment
* Coordinate the collection of Emergency Department deposits, health fund excess/ co-payments and out-of-pocket fees
* Coordinate with staff from other departments
* Maintain accurate and timely patient information and processing of medical records
Essential Criteria
* Experience in an acute patient-focused healthcare facility/hospital
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Highly developed organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
* Strong attention to detail
* Works well independently and within a team
* Experience in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
* Flexible to work a variety of shifts – 7-day rotating rosters
* WebPas Hospital system experience (desirable)

More Information: Applicants will be required to provide a current National Police check, WWCC where applicable, and evidence of right to work in Australia prior to appointment. Staff in patient contact roles will provide proof of immunity to specified infectious diseases as a Category A Healthcare worker.
