Description
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Legal Secretary with 3-5 years' experience to join and support our dynamic Melbourne office. This is a full-time position working closely with our insurance practitioners, with a particular focus on sensitive claims.
What does a standard week look like?
* Document management (organisation and filing on electronic files).
* Management of billing process, including e-billing.
* Entering disbursements and sundry accounts (Elite3E).
* Client reporting.
* Drafting court documents, court filing, arranging service of documents.
* Arranging couriers.
* Compiling e-briefs to counsel and other experts.
* Word processing.
* Drafting, editing and despatching letters.
* Drafting and submitting relevant Medicare / Centrelink forms.
* Arranging medical appointments.
* Opening and closing files.
* Arranging interstate travel.
Skills and Experiences
* Over 3 years' experience in a legal administrative position with exposure to litigation, ideally supporting an insurance team.
* Proficient knowledge and skills in computer software, programs and systems as required, including Elite 3E, Microsoft Word and Excel, Outlook, iManage and Doc Assist.
* Excellent attention to detail, organisational and time management skills to manage and prioritise multiple tasks and deadlines effectively, and at least 60 wpm accurate typing skills.
* Exceptional interpersonal skills and communication (verbal, written and oral) skills.
* Value a sense of humour and the ability to make the office an enjoyable and friendly place to work.
