Join our growing team We are looking for motivated Medical Secretaries to support our busy Orthopaedic surgeons. With both part-time and full-time opportunities available, you'll be joining a growing, collaborative team committed to delivering exceptional patient care
The Role

* Box Hill & Richmond rooms.
* Part Time & Full Time positions available
Working within a large Orthopaedic group practice and reporting to your specialist surgeon.
The ideal candidate will have:
* Previous experience in medical administration, preferably within a specialist or surgical practice
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-first mindset
* Excellent organisational skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask
* Proficiency in medical software (Gentu) and the Microsoft Office Suite
* Sound knowledge of Medicare, health fund billing, and referral processes
* A calm, courteous, and professional manner, particularly in a fast-paced environment
* The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
* A strong commitment to confidentiality, discretion, and maintaining accurate medical records
Responsibilities will include:
* Meeting and greeting patients in a friendly, professional, and compassionate manner
* Managing incoming phone calls and email correspondence, including appointment requests, referrals, and general enquiries
* Scheduling and coordinating patient appointments, follow-ups, investigations, and surgical bookings
* Processing medical billing, including Medicare, private health funds, WorkCover, and TAC
* Maintaining accurate and confidential patient records using clinical software (e.g. Gentu)
* Providing administrative support to your surgeon, including diary management, medical typing, and theatre list preparation
* Liaising with hospitals, referring doctors, allied health providers, and other external stakeholders
