The group is led by the Deputy Secretary, Emergency Management.
Emergency Management includes the department's emergency management accountabilities and statutory entities and offices.Emergency Management Victoria (EMV) leads emergency management in Victoria by working with government, agencies and business to strengthen their capacity to withstand, plan for, respond to and recover from emergencies.
EMV is a statutory entity and is part of the Department of Justice and Community Safety (the Department).
The Department, through the Secretary, employs EMV staff and provides corporate functions to EMV.
EMV is led jointly by the Chief Executive (CE) and the Emergency Management Commissioner (EMC).
About The RoleThe purpose of the Operations directorate is to lead the emergency operational coordination and state operationsin Victoria by working with communities, government, agencies and business to strengthen their capacity to withstand, plan for, respond to and recover from emergencies.The role works on a rostered basis.
