About the role

An opportunity exists to join our Commercial Litigation practice group, specialising in litigation, mediation, and alternative dispute resolution.

Working closely with a Partner, and a team supporting the Partner, some of the responsibilities of this role will involve:

* Preparing affidavits and other court documents and clip documents with Court Registers.
* Preparing briefs to counsel and court books
* File opening and drafting costs agreements
* File management – undertaking conflict checks, file opening, drafting costs agreements, saving correspondence and documents to files
* Preparing billing reports and issuing tax invoices
* diary management and scheduling meetings
* Conducting property, personal and company searches
* Liaising with clients, mediators, barristers and other stakeholders
* Arranging travel (flights and accommodation) and assisting with business development activities

About you

We are looking for someone with fast and accurate typing skills and proficient in using IT systems including MS Office suite. You will be professional, highly organised and proactive. Ideally, you will have at least 2-3 years of proven experience as a legal secretary in litigation.

You are motivated, resourceful and client-service focussed. We are also looking for someone with a good sense of humour and a desire to work closely with a group of high energy and hardworking successful lawyers.

To be successful in this role you will need to possess the following qualities:

* Enthusiasm and initiative
* The ability to work well under pressure and to meet deadlines
* Excellent interpersonal skills with strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Must have a high level of proficiency with using Microsoft Office (ie. Outlook, Word and Excel)
* Exceptional attention to detail
* Outstanding organisational and time management
