The APS 4 Administration Officer supports the critical functions of business support through the provision of a high level of administrative assistance and customer service. They will be required to have good attention to detail with the ability to adapt to competing priorities and stay focused in a fast paced and changing environment.
Key Duties
The role entails (but is not limited to) providing administrative support including:
Managing, responding and resolving moderately complex tasks (seeking advice and guidance for more complex issues)
Meeting coordination
Secretariat domestic and international travel coordination
Simple procurement
Management of one or more group mailboxes, including triaging and tracking requests
Training course administration
Management of ICT assets disposal
Facilities management support
Visits and events, publications and records management.
The Administration Officer is a member of a small team, which provides shared administrative and business support functions for a division across several sites around Australia. The Administration Officer is accountable under limited direction to perform and achieve moderately complex procedural, operational, administrative and business support work within an integrated environment.
They are to contribute to ongoing continuous improvement activities, including contributing new ideas and identifying opportunities to improve the efficiency of business processes. They are required to have a good understanding of and compliance to relevant legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence's mission and policy requirements.

Eligibility
Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance at "Negative Vetting Level 1".
