About the Role
The Administration Officer works in a team to provide day-to-day customer service and administrative support, primarily to assist the operations of the Customer and Business Support Unit, within the City Development Department. The Administration Officer reports directly to Team Leader Planning Services - Customer and Business Services – City Development. This Business Unit provides administrative and customer support to the City Development Department, which includes Planning, Building, Health services.
More specifically, Administration Officer will:
* Provide prompt and efficient customer service
* Undertake data entry, word processing, and spread sheeting
* Ensure accurate and up to date records are maintained for business transactions conducted by the Department
* Provide advice to the public and Council staff on procedural and administrative tasks
* Contribute to building effective relationships by promoting a positive image, having regard to Council protocols
* Provide operational support services including telephone call screening, filing and other administrative tasks
Skills & Experience
Qualifications and/or appropriate experience in business or other field relevant to work in a local government office.
* Demonstrated, relevant experience including:
* Well-developed skills in administrative practices
* Well-developed skills to investigate issues and solve problems
* High level of attention to detail
* Excellent customer service skills
Advantageous:
* Experience in the local government sector
* A current Working with Children Check
