Legal Secretary - General Insurance

The Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated, highly organised and proactive Legal Secretary to join their Melbourne-based General Insurance team. This is an excellent opportunity to support a large and collaborative team of partners, lawyers and clerks, working across a diverse range of insurance matters.

As one of two legal secretaries supporting the team, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the practice. Your responsibilities will include:

* Liaising with clients and internal stakeholders
* Diary management and travel arrangements
* Arranging medico-legal assessments and briefing counsel
* Preparing legal documents and court materials
* Drafting correspondence including emails, letters and memoranda
* Monthly billing and fee administration
* Managing electronic files and document management systems
* Coordinating client and team events

This role suits someone who enjoys a fast-paced environment, has strong attention to detail and takes pride in providing high-quality support to legal professionals.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Word and PowerPoint, with working knowledge of Excel
* Experience using document management and billing/time recording systems (e.g. FileSite, Expert or similar)
* Proven ability to manage workflows for multiple fee earners
* A proactive, flexible and adaptable approach, with the ability to work autonomously
* A positive, team-focused attitude
* Excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail
