Would you like to join this global movement of people working together to eliminate the inequalities that keep people in poverty?

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and committed person to fill the role of Company Secretary.

**Why you will love working at Oxfam**

As part of the Governance and Executive team, you will use your skills, qualifications, lived experience and initiative to tackle inequality and fight poverty. Yes, you read that right, lived experience and initiative, because it is not all about key selection criteria.

**The Role**

As the Company Secretary, you will support the governing and monitoring role of the Board and advise the Board and its committees on governance matters, including ongoing compliance with the ACNC's Governance Standards. Reporting to the Chief Executive, you will foster meaningful and constructive relationships between the Board and Executives.

You will manage at least one direct report: the Board Support Officer. In this role, you will also support the Board Nominations Committee, Board Support Officer and the People & Capability Team with Board recruitment, induction and succession planning in line with board composition requirements and skills matrices.

**Desired Skills and Experience**:
**A little about you (the key selection criteria)**

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Experience in a previous governance or company secretarial role and/or qualifications or formal completion of professional governance programs, such as those offered by the Australian Institute of Company Directors, the Governance Institute of Australia, the Securities Institute of Australia or other equivalent training and experience;
- Knowledge of the key governance obligations for organisations under the relevant legislation (i.e. Charities Act 2013 (Cth), the Australian Charities and Not-for-profit Commission Act 2013 (Cth), and the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth));
- Experience of operating in a not-for-profit context or other highly regulated environments, as a trusted advisor to executives.
- High level digital literacy, including proficient working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Box and Diligent;
- Demonstrated professional ethical standards, integrity, diplomacy, discretion and a high level of confidentiality;
- Strong relationship building and collaboration skills, emotional intelligence, humility, level-headedness and approachability.

**We can offer you**

A base salary of $131,067.71 (Pro-rata) plus superannuation, superior leave benefits and access to a generous not-for-profit salary packaging program **(up to $18,450 of your salary tax-free)**.**

The opportunity to use your talents and expertise to make a positive impact around the world.
