Duration: 12 months fixed‑term appointment

Remuneration: Pro‑rate $83,424 - $95,825 pa HEW 5 plus 17% superannuation

The Opportunity

Join one of Australia’s leading universities and contribute to world‑class neuroscience research and education. Based at the Alfred Campus within the School of Translational Medicine, the Department of Neuroscience brings together clinicians, researchers and educators dedicated to advancing understanding of the brain and improving outcomes for people affected by neurological disease.

We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Executive Assistant to provide proactive, high‑quality administrative support to the Head and Deputy Head of Department. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a close‑knit team making a genuine impact through research and innovation in neuroscience.

About You

You will be a confident communicator and skilled multitasker who thrives in a dynamic environment. Drawing on your experience providing executive or administrative support in a complex organisation, you’ll coordinate diaries, prepare correspondence and meeting papers, manage communications, and assist with departmental events and projects.

You’ll bring

- Proven experience delivering executive or administrative support in a busy, multi‑stakeholder setting
- Excellent organisational and time‑management skills, with the ability to prioritise competing demands
- Strong written communication skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and confidence using business systems
- A collaborative mindset and commitment to providing outstanding service

Experience within a university, healthcare, or neuroscience/neurology‑related setting will be highly regarded.

Your Impact

In this role, you will:

- Provide confidential administrative and executive support to senior leaders
- Manage calendars, correspondence, and meeting coordination efficiently
- Prepare agendas, minutes, and documentation for committees and working groups
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication and workflow
- Contribute to process improvements and operational efficiency

You’ll play a key part in ensuring the smooth operation of the Department’s leadership office, helping advance Monash’s mission to deliver life‑changing research and education.
