**Deputy Board Secretary**
Office of the General Counsel
Ongoing Position - Full time

The Women's is recognised as a leader in its field, with expertise in maternity services and the care of newborn babies, gynaecology, assisted reproduction, women's health and cancer services.
Reporting into the General Counsel, who is the Women's Board Secretary, the Deputy Board Secretary co-ordinates the affairs of the Royal Women's Hospital Board and its committees and provides administrative support to the Board and Board Directors.
**Your contribution**
Your duties will include (but are not limited to) the following:
- Coordinate the hospital's reporting and governance administration requirements as set out by the Department of Health (DH)
- Support the Board Secretary to provide high quality advice and support to the Board and Executive on its governance obligations and responsibilities, procedures and processes.
- Consulting with and maintaining productive and cooperative relationships, and ensuring effective information flows with Board Directors, from the Board to its Committees, the DHHS and their staff, the Women's Executive and staff, Parkville Precinct partners and other health services and stakeholders.
- Coordination of the Board and Committee schedule of meetings including the preparation of meeting agendas and papers, and accurate minute taking for meetings.
**About you**
To be successful within this role you will need to:
- Have experience in servicing high level committees and Boards and a detailed understanding of governance frameworks
- Have knowledge of best corporate governance procedures and ability to influence peers and partner with stakeholders across all levels
- Understand the health environment, its influencers and drivers
- Have time management and organisational skills to manage multiple Board and Committee meeting requirements and concurrent projects.
- Be experienced in exercising discretion in highly confidential matters and senior level correspondence.
- Be proficient in Microsoft Office products, particularly MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Adobe Reader, Diligent Board portal (or equivalent) and Outlook
- Preferably have related tertiary qualifications
