If you are, then Yarrabing Secondary College is looking for Education Support Staff to join the school.
Yarrabing Secondary College opened in Term 1 2024 and provides the growing local population with great educational opportunities close to home.
It is able to enrol up to 550 students with the stage one facilities.
In 2024 Yarrabing Secondary College opened to approximately 150 Year 7 students and will progressively grow by one year level thereafter.
In 2025, we have Year 7 and Year 8 students only.
Our school grounds are close to planned parklands, sporting facilities, and we are surrounded by a supportive community.
Most students that will attend our school live locally and would tend to walk or ride their bike to school.
Our school will be culturally diverse with 60% of students having a language background other than English (LOTE) spoken in the family home, with the largest LOTE languages being Hindi and Punjabi.

Foundation Education Support Staff will work collaboratively with colleagues and leadership to improve students educational outcomes and to ensure that the school remains on a path of continuous improvement through the application of evidenced-based research.
Selection Criteria
SC1Demonstrated experience and skills in Office Administration including excellent organisational skills to work in a fast paced environment requiring time management, problem solving and the ability to prioritise.

About the Role
This is a unique opportunity for you to work in the initial development of school processes for a foundation secondary school, growing one year level each year from Year 7 in 2024 to Year 12 in 2029.
Given the school is in the second year of establishment, the teaching, learning and student support practices are based on the latest evidence-based research.
The brand-new facilities support 21st century skills and these teaching and learning practices.

Education Support Staff will be responsible for delivering support for the school staff and student learning environment.
Role
The House Administration Officer fulfils an important student support services function with the responsibility for the accurate and timely support to the college's student house team structures.
It is expected that they will provide a high level of customer service to the student body, staff and visitors to the College and be competent in the provision of up to date and relevant information.
The House Administration Officer major function will be absence reporting, issuing of passes and the first point of contact for students presenting to the house teams.
Accurate data recording is important as it reflects in the provision of information and reports to Families, Staff, School Council and the Community.

Adhering to the College's dress code policy will be required.
The College will follow a strict style guide for the development and publication of correspondence, to ensure a consistent presentation of all school documents.
The House Administration Officer is part of the Student House Team staff, whose responsibility is to work co-operatively as part of the team, ensuring a productive, efficient workplace.
Responsibilities
Monitoring of unapproved absences and late arrivals to class, bringing patterns of concern to the coordinator's attention, and calling parents as directed
Liaise with coordinators about attendance and record on Compass
Issuing of student timetables as required
Production and processing of attendance letters as per policy
Liaise with the College's Administration Staff on new student enrolments and exits from the house team
House Reception
Greeting all students and staff presenting to the house office, promptly directing queries as necessary and appropriate to other house staff
Answering incoming phone calls to the house office and in the absence of other house team staff
Issuing uniform passes and producing letters informing of uniform requirements to parents as directed
Collecting students from class and delivering notices as required
Allocate student lockers and ensure locker registers are maintained
Welcome new students to the College, arranging buddies and introducing new students to key staff and their home group teacher.
Provide new students with a general tour, allocate student resources
Assisting in the booking of parent meetings including phoning parents
Maintain house team displays and noticeboards ensuring relevant notices are professionally displayed and updated in collaboration with relevant staff
Assist in the distribution of notices and forms
Produce notices, spreadsheets and reports as directed by the house team
Ensure accurate family details including phone numbers, email and home addresses are maintained, completing change of details forms as required for processing
Photocopying, filing, and scanning
Ordering stationery and supplies as required
Achievements & Events
Encourage student participation and the promotion of lunchtime activities programs
Processing of power point presentations and packs for house assemblies and information evenings
Preparation of certificates for assemblies and College events
Assist in the collation of newsletter, Facebook, website and college magazine articles
Assist in the administration of whole school events i.e. R U Ok Day
Whole School Support
Assist in the preparation and distribution of resources for the educational program
Assist the Head of House Leader with the administration of their whole school responsibility i.e. School Wide Positive Behaviours, Team/School Connectedness & Attendance, Student Voice and Agency, Student Transitions
Assist the Learning Support Team in the booking of SSGs, parent meetings, minute taking and collation of reports.
Assist the Student Support Services Team in the administration of wellbeing services i.e. ordering of resources, set up of displays
Perform general education support staff duties as required in the event of absences of other staff including reception and first aid duties in the Administration Office
Other Duties
Ensure work areas are in a clean, safe and orderly condition at all times.
Ensure professionalism, efficiency, cheerfulness, reliability, politeness and teamwork are implemented, followed and supported at all times.
At all times working to create a professional environment, which upholds and displays the schools values of high expectations, collaboration, respect, and responsibility.

This is a full time position, Monday to Friday.
Working hours are 8.00am to 4.06pm including a 30 minute unpaid lunch break.
Education Support Class positions include 50 days (pro rata) of annual and additional paid leave per year which is taken during the school holidays as per the Victorian Government Schools Agreement (VGSA).
