We are working with a reputable organisation that conducts monetary policy, works to maintain a strong financial system and issues the nation's currency. Australian banknotes don't last forever; they get worn as they are used. When they start to show their age, they are taken out of circulation and destroyed to be recycled into other plastic products.
This role is responsible for processing and destroying worn banknotes in the highly operational and automated environment.
**Your day to day**:
- Work in a fast-paced setting and is highly procedurally driven
- Ensuring that the processing, assessment, verification, destruction, storage and the control arrangements of banknotes are undertaken efficiently, in accordance with procedures and with mínimal safety and security risk
- Manually counting banknotes
- Operating high speed banknote processing equipment
- Using manual handling equipment
- Interacting with automation systems
- Providing operational and administrative support; testing systems; and maintaining registers
- Supporting a continuous improvement culture by identifying, proposing and/or executing efficiency enhancements to existing processes
**About you**:
- Experience working in a fast paced, process driven environment
- Data entry experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Able to stand for long periods of time and lift weights of up to 2kg
- Available to start late November/Early December
- Manual handling experience is desired but not essential
This is a one year temporary role based onsite at Craigieburn paying a competitive hourly rate of $35 to $40 per hour + super.
