About The Opportunity

To help us shape the municipality in 2026 and beyond, we are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate Administration Officer to play an important role in the delivery of planning services and the continued success of the Planning and Design Business Unit.

As an Administration Officer, you will have an important role in providing administrative and customer service support.


You will make an impact by

* Lodging and registering applications for planning permits, amendments to permits, extensions of time, approval of plans, secondary consents, planning scheme amendments and written enquiries.
* Undertaking referral and notification processes, including acknowledging and compiling submissions and objections.
* Preparing and processing letters, permits, notices, certificates, submissions and other documents in relation to functions of the Planning and Design business unit.
* Assisting in the development and implementation of administration, business and customer service improvements.
* Providing information and advice in response to telephone and counter enquiries on planning matters.

Importantly, you have a positive approach to problem‑solving and a strong willingness to learn and contribute to the team and wider organisation.


To be successful in this role, you will have the following:

* Completion of a Certificate in Business (Office Administration) or equivalent experience.
* Experience in the use of record management systems, mapping systems and Microsoft Office programs.
* Ability to research information including property details.
* Well‑developed interpersonal skills.
* Ability to effectively plan, organise and manage your own time and workload including achieving specific outcomes within set timeframes against conflicting priorities.
* An understanding of the statutory and/or strategic planning process would be highly desirable.
