Role: Community Amenity Administration Officer – Internal Reviews (Band 4) Start Date: Thursday, 19 February 2026 End Date: Thursday, 30 April 2026 Hours: 38 hours per week Work Pattern: Monday to Friday Daily Hours: 8:30am – 4:30pm

Purpose of the Position:

* Undertake timely and accurate assessment of applications requesting a review of infringement notices issued by Council Compliance Officers
* Carry out administrative processes associated with the infringement management process
* Provide efficient, accurate and confidential administrative support to the Manager Community Amenity and Coordinators
* Deliver customer service that meets or exceeds community expectations and enhances Council’s reputation
* Process and consider additional applications arising from the infringement process, as required

* Experience working within a regulatory or compliance environment
* Ability to make sound, evidence-based decisions
* Strong attention to detail
* Able to work both independently and within a team
* Strong understanding of privacy, confidentiality and legislative obligations
* Comfortable managing complex and sometimes sensitive community interactions

Key Responsibilities Service Delivery
* Assess applications for review of infringement notices within legislative timeframes
* Review supporting evidence and documentation to determine appropriate outcomes
* Apply relevant legislation, Council policies and Codes of Practice when making decisions
* Ensure impartial, transparent and defensible decision making

Infringement Review Processing
* Process internal infringement review requests under the Infringement Act
* Refer to legislation, Council’s Infringement and Prosecutions Code of Practice and established precedents
* Determine whether grounds for withdrawal or enforcement exist
* Prepare clear, well-reasoned written responses addressing matters raised by applicants
* Exercise appropriate discretion within legislative and policy frameworks

Administrative Support
* Carry out all administrative processes relating to infringement reviews
* Maintain confidentiality and accuracy in all documentation and records
* Provide administrative support to the Team Leader Administration as required
* Assist in the preparation of reports for Executive and Council
* Support preparation and submission of monthly, quarterly and annual departmental reports

Database and Records Management
* Maintain accurate records relating to infringement notices and correspondence
* Ensure data integrity across relevant systems
* Monitor and track review outcomes and reporting requirements

Customer Service
* Receive and respond to all requests for review of infringement notices
* Communicate decisions in writing in a clear, respectful and balanced manner
* Address complex and often emotive matters with sensitivity and professionalism
* Remain impartial when explaining decisions and processes
* Engage respectfully with a culturally diverse community

Key Selection Criteria Qualifications and Experience
* Certificate, diploma or degree qualification, or equivalent relevant work experience
* Preferably experience within Local Government
* Experience processing internal reviews or similar regulatory decision-making functions

Skills and Capabilities
* Demonstrated high attention to detail
* Ability to manage multiple administrative priorities effectively
* Strong decision-making skills and ability to exercise sound judgement
* Ability to work within standards, procedures and legislative frameworks
* Capacity to identify process improvements where appropriate
* Strong written communication skills, including preparation of routine correspondence and reports
* Ability to interpret and apply legislation relevant to infringements and court processes, or willingness to develop this knowledge

Mandatory Requirements The following must be held prior to commencement and maintained throughout employment:
* Satisfactory and ongoing Working with Children Check
* Satisfactory and ongoing Police Check
