**About the Parent-Infant Research Institute (PIRI) and Austin Health**

We are leaders in digital perinatal depression treatments and hold a NHMRC Centre of Research Excellence - STePPS (Science Translation for e-Psychological Perinatal Supports) which aims to reduce the burden of mental health difficulties and increase uptake e-mental health interventions in the first 1000 days (conception to two years). Our government funded MumSpace initiative delivers digital treatments and resources for perinatal depression, anxiety and associated difficulties.

PIRI is based at Austin Health, which is a major provider of tertiary health services, health professional education and research across three campuses in the Northeast of Melbourne and state-wide. We work closely with Austin Health's Perinatal Community Services and collaborate with Austin Health's diverse and collaborative workforce that is unified by our purpose, which is to help people live healthy and fulfilled lives.

**About the role**

This position is to provide administration support to the Director of the Parent-Infant Research Institute and work collaboratively with the Business Manager and the broader research team (researchers and psychologists), agencies and the University of Melbourne.

General administration

Supporting the Director and Business Manager with the following:

- Assisting in the preparation of budget acquittals and financial accounts.
- Problem-solving day to day problems.
- Job sharing tasks and handover, as needed.
- Recruitment and employment of research staff and developing familiarity with Success Factors, Austin Health's platform for appointments and the Kronos system.
- Liaising with HR and Payroll Services.
- Coordinating meetings; contribution to Policy and Procedures.
- Management of postgraduate research students and visiting fellows.
- Acting as a Fire Warden as and when required.

Research Administration as needed
- Assisting with submissions for grants, progress reports, financial auditing of grants and the preparation of papers for publication.
- Managing research documentation and grants including progress reports and acquittals necessary, submissions, papers, contract funding and major research collaborations.
- Developing familiarity with research and hospital systems (NHMRC, CRE, budget acquittals, Standards, Risk Management, Clinical Placement Framework, registration check for psychologists).
- Liaison with Austin Health, external health professionals, including maternal and child health centres and national and international investigators linked with the CRE, and other relevant services.
- Undertake other _ad hoc _activities as requested.

**About you**

We are seeking a flexible and efficient person, able to work independently, manage tight timelines, enjoys working in a team environment and who has excellent written and computer skills. Desirable qualities include:

- Experience as a senior administrator.
- A high degree of organizational management skills including ability to deal with a range of different tasks simultaneously and manage tight timelines.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- Attention to detail.
- Understanding of grant processes including NHMRC grants, progress reports and research publication requirements, psychology research documents and acquittals.
- Familiarity with managing staff processes and budgets.
- Advanced proficiency and expertise in computer operation including Office 365 (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Access, Microsoft Explorer, Internet and EndNote software.
