About the role
We are seeking a highly skilled and organised medical secretary to join our specialist practice in Coburg, VIC on a part-time basis. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for providing administrative and clerical support to ensure the smooth running of our medical practice.
What you'll be doing
1. Greeting and welcoming patients, answering and directing incoming calls, and managing appointment bookings
2. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records and medical files
3. Assisting with the preparation of medical reports and correspondence
4. Ordering and managing medical supplies and equipment
5. Providing general office support, including typing, filing, and photocopying
6. Maintaining a professional and courteous demeanour when interacting with patients, colleagues, and other stakeholders
What we're looking for
1. Previous experience as a medical secretary or in a similar administrative role within a healthcare setting, desirable but not essential, if you are willing to learn.
2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with patients and medical professionals in a compassionate and professional manner
3. Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively
4. Proficient in the use of medical terminology, office equipment, and computer software (e.g. Microsoft Office suite)
5. A genuine passion for providing high-quality customer service and contributing to the overall success of the medical practice
