About the role
We are seeking a Lawyer to join our growing General Insurance practice on a full-time, permanent basis. Working with a Partner and a team of 15, you will handle property damage claims, focusing on subrogated recovery actions for home and contents, and commercial insurers. This includes exposure to litigation in Federal and State courts (including VCAT) involving:
* Product liability and the Australian Consumer Law
* Negligence and nuisance at common law
* The Water Act 1989
* Domestic building legislation
Our Property Damage team works with leading Australian insurers across various sectors, including home, contents, building, landlord and tenant, and motor insurance.
About you
The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years’ PAE, a passion for litigation and insurance law, and some advocacy experience. You should be eager to develop your skills further and comfortable managing a high-volume workload in a fast-paced environment, maintaining high standards of work.
You will demonstrate a strong client service focus, a commercial mindset, and excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Attributes include self-confidence, initiative, positivity, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
