Overview
We are currently recruiting for a Document Controller to be based in Melbourne in a permanent role for our client who operate in the Power Transmission & Distribution industry.
This is a key role within large, complex power transmission projects, working closely with project teams, contractors, and clients to ensure information is controlled, compliant, and flowing efficiently across the business.
Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and maintain document control systems and procedures.
Manage and control the distribution, filing, and retrieval of project documents.
Ensure all documents are up-to-date, accurate, and comply with company standards and regulatory requirements.
Liaise with project teams, contractors, and clients to ensure smooth document flow.
Coordinate with various departments to ensure document control procedures are adhered to.
Act as the main point of contact for document control issues and provide guidance and support to staff.
Conduct regular audits and reviews of document management practices.
Implement corrective actions to address any discrepancies or non-compliance issues.
Ensure proper version control of documents and maintain document history.
Prepare and present regular reports on document control activities and status.
Monitor and report on the progress of document control activities to senior management.
Required Experience:
Proven experience as a Document Controller, preferably within the engineering or construction sectors.
Previous experience working on major power utility projects is highly regarded.
Proficiency in using document management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience with Objective would be preferred but not essential.
Experience with document management software and systems.
Strong understanding of document control standards and regulatory requirements.
Experience in conducting document audits and implementing corrective actions.
Excellent coordination and communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with various stakeholders.
Qualifications:
A relevant tertiary qualification in Business Administration, Information Management, or a related field – preferred but not essential
