The Role
As our Finance & Administration Officer, you will keep our financial engine running smoothly. This is a hands‐on role where your attention to detail, initiative, and ability to work independently will directly support the organisation's ability to focus on what matters most: creating a kinder world for animals.
Responsibilities
* Process and manage accounts payable and receivable, payroll, reconciliations and month‐end processes
* Maintain accurate financial records, leave records, and the asset registry
* Keep the office running – managing equipment, supplier relationships, travel coordination and administration processes
* Act as the go‐to point of contact for day‐to‐day finance and payroll queries
* Identify and support process improvements and surface operational risks proactively
Qualifications

* Experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and month‐end processes
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g. Xero, MYOB or similar)
* Organised, efficient, and able to balance competing priorities without ongoing direction
* A clear communicator who can translate financial information for non‐finance colleagues
* Proactive, self‐driven, and thrive in a fluid and dynamic environment
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience in the not‐for‐profit, advocacy or for‐purpose sector
* Certificate IV in Bookkeeping, Accounting or equivalent demonstrated experience
* Familiarity with Power BI or similar reporting tools
