Humanitarian Response and Recovery Specialist
We are seeking a highly skilled professional to support the acquisition and implementation of high-quality programs across our organization, ensuring programs are strategically designed and deliver impactful outcomes aligned with donor priorities and organisational strategy.
This role requires collaboration with internal teams, including acquisition and technical specialists, program management, corporate, as well as other offices and external partners.
* The successful applicant will have experience in designing solutions and working with funding and grant structures and processes of various international organisations.
* They will have a strong understanding of community-led development approaches and be able to identify and design new opportunities.
* A creative thinker with technical expertise, they will be able to work effectively with contractors, research institutes and universities.
* With a relevant degree or equivalent experience in a relevant sector discipline, they will possess excellent collaboration skills especially in cross-cultural contexts.
This role will be at the centre of our humanitarian response and recovery effort on delivering timely, life-saving support to communities affected by crises, while helping them recover and rebuild.
Key Responsibilities
1. Develop and execute business development action plans to strengthen partnerships with donors, multilateral agencies, bilateral donors, impact investors and the private sector.
2. Actively engage stakeholders to develop a pipeline of opportunities and secure long-term funding to enhance program sustainability.
3. Provide technical writing for funding decisions, concept notes, grant and tender proposals, and high-quality project designs.
4. Develop donor briefs and collect data for pipeline and performance reporting purposes.
5. Provide expertise to improve project models and programming approaches – focussing on the humanitarian sector – in response to best practices and lessons learned from field implementation.
6. Strengthen organisational knowledge, learning and practice on the humanitarian technical area through involvement in internal platforms and selected external forums.
7. Provide technical oversight, advice, training and mentorship, insights and lessons for sector development to support the implementation, monitoring and evaluation, and reporting of projects and programs.
8. Develop relevant technical resources to assist program design and implementation of our programs.
