Selection Criteria


1. High-level oral and written communication skills.

2. Demonstrated ability to work under minimal supervision, prioritise tasks and work under pressure.

3. High degree of professionalism and judgement with the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

4. Ability to balance conflicting priorities and to work to deadlines.

5. Strong knowledge and experience in MS Office, Outlook, Teams and publishing or design software

6. Experience with WordPress website content management is highly regarded.


Role


This role is to support the Principal in delivering a range of services that include publicity and marketing, written and visual communications, community liaison, school website and social media, promotional school materials, and general administrative duties.

Experience in school organisations is preferred but not essential.

The successful applicant will be proactive, supportive, and enthusiastic. They will be highly professional and demonstrate excellent administrative, interpersonal and communication (written and oral) skills. They will show initiative in addressing school needs in community communications. They will have an excellent ability to manage their time and prioritise tasks. They will maintain the standard of excellence required by the school¿s reputation and uphold its philosophy.

Qualifications in visual or digital design, marketing or project management preferred.


Responsibilities


The responsibilities of this position will be:

Supporting the Principal

* Collate School Council documentation in consultation with the Business Manager and the Principal
* Attend meetings and take minutes of meetings if requested
* Formatting and updating of school policies and other documents to align with the current DOE templates and guides as required
* Preparing agendas, reports, and presentations as required for Principal meetings and the School Council
* Coordinating School Council meetings, and other events and functions (invites,

RSVPs, catering, equipment, staffing) as required

* Initiating ideas for publicity and community engagement with the Principal
* Preparing appropriate verbal and written responses in internal and external correspondence as directed by the Principal
* Other administrative tasks as directed by the Principal

Community engagement and promotion

* Maintaining and updating school website content
* Research, review and collation of information to support the Principal
* Update school information on parent portal (Compass)
* Liaises with School Photographer and professional photographers
* Ensures the school¿s style guide is followed in school publications
* Prepares school publications in consultation with relevant staff (digital newsletters,

Annual Report, Staff Handbook, Sub school handbooks, etc.
- Investigate and provide solutions to improve the image of the school
- Coordinates ordering and management of promotional item stock levels
- Coordinates gifts and cards as required.
- Design school materials eg. Certificates, infographics
- Promoting school and student events on social media pages
- Coordinates marketing with appropriate staff and external bodies.
- Liaises with clients, service providers and public.

Annual Leave

20 days Annual Leave plus 30 additional days Paid Leave.

A full-time teaching service employee (principal, teacher, education support and paraprofessional class), is entitled to 152 hours (20 days) annual leave in respect of each 12 months of service which accrues progressively during a year of service, according to the employee's ordinary hours of work. Part-time employees receive annual leave entitlements on a pro rata basis, calculated according to the time fraction worked.

Education support class employees are expected to use additional paid leave during school vacation periods.

Location Profile


Box Hill High School is a high-performing co-educational government school in the Inner East area of Melbourne.
